Marian L. Schweitzer, 97, of Kiel passed away at her home on August 15, 2025 with her family at her side. She died peacefully after a prolonged struggle with dementia. She is the former Marian Rumpff born on March 5, 1928 in the Town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County to the late Oscar and Lillie (Grossheim) Rumpff.

On October 29, 1949 she was united in marriage to Bernard Schweitzer at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel. Marian took great pride in raising her family. She also volunteered at the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse, New Holstein for more than 45 years. Some of Marian's favorite hobbies were gardening, canning and making jams. She was an excellent seamstress. Marian also loved baking and cooking for her family. In her free time she enjoyed playing solitaire, cards and putting puzzles together. Marian had a love for traveling the United States, especially Hawaii and Alaska. She also visited Canada and Mexico.

Survivors include her husband of 75 years; Bernard, her four children; Richard (Mary) Schweitzer, Kiel, Kathleen Passalacqua, Longview, TX., Beverly (Randy) VanDeLoo, Stanley, WI., Paul (Amy) Schweitzer, Kiel, thirteen grandchilden; Nicole Myles, Regina (Chris) Deslatte, Santino Passalacqua, Christina (Craig) Little, Michael (Jessica) Passalacqua, Noah VanDeLoo, Sarah (Dave) Lahoda, Anna (Alex) Davenport, Joy VanDeLoo, John (Hannah) VanDeLoo, Silas (Trina) VanDeLoo, Marcus (Liz) Rumpff, Megan Wolf (Tylor) along with 27 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother; Lloyd (Darlean) Rumpff, Kiel along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters; Irma (Ted) Schaele, Gladys Rumpff, Bernice (Eddie) Preder, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Valeria (Dave) Bradley, Leo (Alma) (Evangeline) Schweitzer, Lawrence (Hildegard) Schweitzer, Sylvester (Bernice) Schweitzer, Robert Sr. (Clara) Schweitzer, Alphonse (Helen) Schweitzer, LeRoy (Delores) Schweitzer, Armella (Clem) Walber, Alice (Ronald) Pauly.

Funeral Mass for Marian will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday August 20, 2025 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church (413 Fremont St. Kiel). Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A time of visitation and support will take place on Tuesday August 19, 2025 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home (815 6th St. Kiel) from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday from 9:30am until 10:45 am when we will have brief family rites before Mass begins.

A special thank you to Aurora Hospice, especially Courtney, Megan, Trishia, Cerrenity and John for all the loving care and compassion that they showed to Marian over the past year and a half.
