Fred Smith, a man with a vision who shared his vision with his family of employees throughout the world, balancing the rewards of his labor to a simple morality and mantra of " people, service, profit" That changed and enhanced the lives of his countless associates. Thanks for a enjoyable career. 029106.

I had the absolute privilege of being mentored by this amazing visionary during the 79´s and 80´s - As a director in the superhub project we met weekly to discuss implementation plans for concepts and ideas that were not yet industry standards - 200 feet per minute sort belts - airplane parking at nose docks and so ma t other innovations - and then while a director in DC saw him often and testified with him in front of the senate - As a young man in my 30´s was mesmerized by his ability to navigate and change the establishment.
Also having the privilege of being a Marine Vietnam veteran that bond and trust is forever. His silent philanthropy is enviable to many that really knew him - his appreciation and support of veterans and related initiatives should be a standard for those that can- and should and yes One can NOT fathom what Memphis would be absent FedEx and Fred Smith
It is difficult to conceive that God needed him more than we did - He deserved more time to share and enjoy all he sponsored - founded - funded - created and enjoy his family.

Thank you Mr. Smith for a wonderful career at FedEx. I proudly served the company for 26 years, and was honored to meet Mr. Smith on several occasions. He was always gracious and humble in those meetings. Not only did he provide me with an excellent career, but also a comfortable retirement for the past 22 years. I truly appreciate what you have done for FedEx, me and my family. (Employee 7307)
