Frederick Herbert Wunderle passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008 at his home in Mesa. He is survived by his sons, Loren (Diane) and Bill (Maria); daughter, Gayle Lind (Jackson); sister, Virginia Reckers; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Claire. Fred was born in Chicago on May 24, 1921. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He and his family moved to Arizona in 1955 and settled in Mesa in 1956. A die hard Cub fan, he always hoped for a World Series Championship. He was passionately involved in Mesa youth baseball for 20 years. He was employed by the Garrett Corporation for 25 years as a design engineer retiring in 1981. His life revolved around family and friends and he will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 28 at 5:00 p.m. at Falconer Funeral Home at 251 West Juniper Avenue in Gilbert. Sign the Guest Book at eastvalleytribune.com

FRED WAS A WONDERFUL, KIND, GENTLE MAN. WE ENJOYED HIS FRIENDSHIP, ALONG WITH CLARE'S FOR MANY YEARS. WE ARE THANKFUL THAT HE WAS PART OF OUR LIVES AND WE KNOW HE IS IN HEAVEN WITH HIS LOVE.
