Born on January 31, 1977, in Talladega, Alabama, Fredrick L. McElderry was the beloved son of Mack A. McElderry and Helen C. McElderry.
Fredrick's life was deeply rooted in his faith, having accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior early on while attending Hall Grove Missionary Baptist Church. His steadfast belief in the goodness of life and the strength of community was evident to all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a man of deep conviction, known for his kind heart, strong spirit, and the love he shared so freely with family and friends. He was educated in the Talladega County School System and was a graduate of Munford High School.
As a devoted and loving father, Fredrick took immense pride in his three cherished children: Justin, Javon, and Justice. His heart swelled with joy at their laughter, and he instilled in them the values of love, resilience, and kindness. His greatest joy came from being a father and they were without a doubt, the light of his life.
An ardent supporter of the Auburn Tigers football team, Fredrick's passion for the sport was contagious. Loved ones will fondly remember his enthusiastic and signature calls of "War Eagle!" echoing through living rooms and family gatherings.
On Monday evening, May 26, 2025, Fredrick McElderry's earthly journey was traded for eternal rest while in the care of Citizen's Baptist Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Arthur and Leola McElderry and Hattie Chatman, as well as his brother, Demetrius "Meat" White, uncles, Walter Stamps, Willie M. Chatman, and O.C. Chatman.
Fredrick is survived by his loving parents, Mack and Helen McElderry of Munford, Alabama; his three children, Justin Sistrunk, Javon Sistrunk, and Justice Sistrunk all of Munford, Alabama; brothers, Deangelo McElderry and General McElderry of Munford, Alabama, Brandon Stockdale of Alpine, Alabama, and Kelvin White of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters, Kimberly (Wendell) Gooden of Munford, Alabama, Jennifer (Johnny) Thomas of Sylacauga, Alabama, and Brandy Stockdale of Alpine, Alabama; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Fredrick's spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the unconditional love he gave to those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of compassion, faith, and spirited joy will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
