G.R. "Bob" Cluskey Jr. passed away January 18, 2025, at his home in Navarre, Florida.
Born January 17, 1947, in Peoria County, Illinois, Bob graduated from Brimfield Grade School (1961) and Brimfield High School (1965). He attended the University of Illinois and graduated from Bradley University cum laude (1971). He received his master's degree from the University of Utah (1978) and a Doctor of Business Administration in Accounting from Southern Illinois University (1994).
Bob served in the USAF from 1971 to 1980 as an auditor and F-4 WSO and retired from the Illinois Air National Guard in 1994 as a lieutenant colonel. Bob accumulated over 1,500 hours as a military and commercial pilot.
Dr. Cluskey received his CPA license in 1973 and retired as a professor of accounting in 2012.
He was a member of the local Catholic Church, Sertoma Club, Institute of Management Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Accounting Association, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
Bob is survived by two brothers: Mark Cluskey (Morton) and Ron Cluskey (Elmwood), along with eight nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Shirley Cluskey, and his brother Brent Cluskey.
Funeral mass was held at St. Sylvester Catholic Church on Friday, February 7 at 11:00am. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brimfield at 10:30 am on Friday, March 28, 2025, with visitation starting at 10:00 am. Graveside services will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Brimfield.
Memorials may be made in his name to Brimfield High School for college scholarships.
