Gable Carson Volkert

Gable Carson Volkert, 52, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away on March 3, 2026, in his hometown, surrounded by the love that defined his extraordinary life.

Born in Bowling Green on July 18, 1973, to Leon Herman Volkert and Sherry Paty Volkert, Gable lived each day with an infectious joy that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. He attended Western Kentucky University, where he was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Order and was deeply loved by his fraternity brothers. His hilarious sense of humor could light up any room, leaving those who knew him with countless cherished memories.

Gable had the rare gift of making everyone feel special. A true people pleaser in the most beautiful sense, he had a heart that never ran out of room. His caring and loving nature extended far beyond his family-he was a friend to all, a free spirit who embraced life with gratitude, generosity, and thoughtfulness at every turn.

Among family and friends, Gable was known as the best gift giver. His legendary bacon-of-the-month club subscriptions will long be remembered. Yet it was never simply about the gifts themselves-it was about the way he truly saw people and celebrated them in thoughtful and meaningful ways.

In addition to his parents, Gable is survived by his wife, Mandy Volkert; his children, Carson Volkert and Knox Volkert; his brother, Christiaan Volkert (Anne Marie); and his sister, Sarah Apple (Ken). He is also survived by his aunt, Carolin Roberts; his uncle, Dr. John Paty (Charlotte); his mother-in-law, Gina Bonn; his father-in-law, Ted Newsom (Bobbi); his brother-in-law, Ray Newsom; his sister-in-law, Angie Snyder (Scott); and his beloved nieces and nephews, Sydney Volkert, Chapel Volkert, Maclaine Volkert, Jacob Apple, Sloane Apple, Isabella Snyder, Nicholas Snyder, Anabel Newsom, and Oak Newsom.

Arrangements will be held Friday at Crossland Community Church. Visitation will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hotel Inc., honoring Gable's deep love for the homeless and his ever-giving desire to help those in need.

Gable will be deeply missed, and the world is dimmer without his light.
