Gabor Tarjan

Gabor Tarjan passed away on Saturday morning, August 16, 2025, at age 93. Gabor was born on January 11, 1932, in Nagyleta, Hungary. He made his way to the United States as a young man and eventually established himself as a Structural Mover. He built a company named Ace House Movers in New Kent County. He met and married Judith LeMieux and had three children. He leaves two sons, Gabor (Garbo) Tarjan and wife Christina, Johnny Tarjan, and wife Mindy and one daughter, Gaybriella (Gay) Tarjan. He also leaves four granddaughters, Christina, Lauren, Ellen, and Ava and preceded in death by a grandson, Johnny. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.

Gabor retired from House Moving in 2000 and moved several times to Florida, North Carolina and eventually back to Virginia with his devoted partner of 35 years, Cornelia (Tina) Johnson. They enjoyed attending Hungarian Festivals and going to Casinos. Gabor was an enthusiastic chess player, never turning down an opportunity to play or teach the game. He will be buried with his beloved chess board per his wishes at Trinity United Methodist Church in Millers Tavern, Virginia.
