Gabriel James Mondragon, was born in Leoti, Kansas on April 13, 1977 to Donald & Ida Mondragon. Gabe passed away on December 4, 2024 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center due to a prolonged illness, He was 47 years old.
In Gabe’s younger years he was a very witty, fun, carefree, and very mischievous young man, who always fought for the underdog.
Gabe graduated from La Junta High School in 1996. All through his high school he played on the baseball team as their pitcher. All through his youth from a young age; baseball was his passion.
His hobbies included making custom craft mirrors, collecting & playing any form of video games and cheering for the Detroit Lions.
Gariel is survived by his parents, Donald & Ida Mondragon of La Junta; daughters, Keiana Mondragon and Jade Mondragon; sister, Adrienne (Louis) Duchaine of La Junta; nieces, Kyle Maes and Kaylene Mondragon; nephews, Grayden (Taryn) Mondragon, and Brodie Bridges; great-niece, Harley Laffoon; and great-nephews, Coplen Laffoon, Asher & Bentley Mondragon.
Gabriel is preceded in death by his grandparents, Fermin & Maria Garcia, and Santos & Lucy Mondragon, his older brother, Adam Mondragon, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
