Rutland - Gail Catherine (Laramie) Dunleavy passed away peacefully after years of challenges with Parkinson's Disease on July 12, 2025, at the Mountain View Center in Rutland, Vermont. Gail was born in Rutland to Robert P. Laramie, Sr., and Sadie Mae (Dodge) Laramie on December 3, 1950. Gail graduated from Fair Haven Union High School in 1968 and from Castleton College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She ran the Fair Haven Nursery School for 25 years. She enjoyed celebrating holidays with her family, along with gardening, reading, sewing, and scrap-booking. Gail was a long-time communicate of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church in Fair Haven. Gail is survived by her children Brian Dunleavy of Fair Haven, Megan Kravitz of California, and James Dunleavy of Massachusetts and grandchildren Jazzmyne, Ava, Mark, Katherine, Bradley, and Teagan. She is also survived by her siblings Lynne Colville, Paul, Jessie Steele, John, Charles, Mary Markie, Dorothy Senecal, Joseph, James, and Carl. There will be no funeral or memorial services at this time. Gail chose to donate her body to the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth to contribute to the education of medical school students and will then be buried next to her parents at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fair Haven.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church. Please mail your contributions to Parish Rectory, 45 North Road, Castleton, VT 05735.
