She was born on June 8, 1942 to Joseph and Bernice Schwartz, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her daughter Jeryl Lynn Oeder. Survivors include her husband of 61 years Russell Heiland, Sr, daughters Candy Heiland (Dan DeCelle), Sandra Jones (Kevin Jones, deceased), sons Timothy Heiland (Jill Heiland), Russell Heiland, Jr. (Anthony Ezzell); grandchildren Morgan Charles, John Hightshoe, Heidi Hightshoe, Sarah Rice, Jason Jones, Joseph Jones, Jaime Jones, Amanda Heiland, Timothy Heiland, Marshall Heiland, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother David Schwartz (Mona Schwartz), many extended family members, and numerous dear friends.
A woman of many talents, Gail was an artist who excelled at beadwork, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She enjoyed gardening and was keenly interested in anthropology, astronomy, and geology. Professionally she worked as an LPN and for many years was the area's foremost astrologer.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Unity Church of Anderson, 2425 Mounds Road, Anderson, Indiana 46012.

Condolences to Gail's family and friends. Gail was my Mothers' (Beverly J. Gabriel) good friend for much of their adult lives. They collaborated on many Astrology and Horoscopes together. Gail and Beverly were both intuitive and always were right on with their writings. I hope they are all together in heaven along with Dee Hartman. Prayers for Gail's family. Shara D. Gabriel Smith
