Remona Gail McBryar, 93, of Trenton, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025. A lifelong resident of Sand Mountain, Gail was born in Jackson County, AL, on April 11, 1932, to the late Homer and I.B. Hendricks.

Gail married the love of her life, Hershel McBryar, and together they raised three sons. Family was the center of her world, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as an excellent cook who loved hosting family dinners. Gail also enjoyed fishing and playing Rook, though her family jokingly insists she sometimes “cheated” at cards.

She dedicated many years working at the Dixie Dime Store and in the cafeteria at Davis Elementary School. Gail and her husband also owned and operated a bait shop at Coon Creek, a place where many memories were made.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Lamar (Deb) McBryar and Eddie (Karen) McBryar; daughter-in-law, Regina McBryar; sister, Bobbie (Robin) Sewell; grandchildren, Niki Sharp, Dusty York, Jeff (Shelly) McBryar, Jamie (Ann Marie) McBryar, Rod (Amber) McBryar, and Rocky (Mandy) McBryar; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel McBryar; parents, Homer and I.B. Hendricks; son, Tony McBryar; and several siblings.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Gail’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in the Larry Moore Memorial Chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Park in Bryant, AL. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

Gail will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
