Gary Alan McBryar, age 65 of the Rosebud community in Loganville, passed away on July 10, 2025, in Loganville, Georgia. He was predeceased by his parents, William "Ray" & Margie McBryar; his grandparents, Carlton and Robena Wade Knight and Bessie McBryar; aunt, Jo Knight Puckett; and uncles, Curtis Underwood and Larry Cooper. He is survived by his loving sons, Jeremy (Laura) McBryar, and Jonathan (Kristi) McBryar; grandchildren, Lincoln, Holland, Lennox and Connor McBryar. He is also survived by his aunts, Hilda Underwood and Beverley Cooper; uncle Oliver Harris "Bud" Puckett, Jr.; and cousins, Jan and Mark Agee, Stanley Cooper, and Wade and Patti Puckett.
Gary was a life-long member of the Loganville community, where he was born and raised. He was a graduate of South Gwinnett High School and Georgia State University, a talented craftsman and the proud owner of McBryar Construction. Gary poured his heart into every project – never hesitating to lend his skills to help friends, family and neighbors.
He had a deep love for sports, especially baseball, and enjoyed traveling across the country touring Major League Baseball stadiums. Gary visited 23 ballparks over the years – 15 of them with his youngest son – and a cherished memory of watching the Indians play in the 1995 World Series alongside his father. His love of the game also extended to his community, where he volunteered as a coach and assistant across Gwinnett County's football and baseball programs, supporting teams at Dacula, Central Gwinnett, Brookwood, North Gwinnett and Mountain View High Schools.
Gary also loved racing – dirt tracks and NASCAR alike – and once even worked on the pit crew for Ron Young's team. He was a devoted sports fan through and through. Whether he was cheering on UGA to a national championship or watching the Atlanta Falcons take the field, Gary was always cheering for a good game. He was most proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, showing up to every soccer game, ballet recital and school event he could. Gary also treasured regular beach trips with his mother, aunts, children and grandchildren.
In his final months, Gary selflessly cared for his mother, Margie, with unwavering devotion. A loving son, devoted father and grandfather, and a steadfast friend, Gary will be missed tremendously.
