Winford Black Obituary

Winford Roy Black, affectionately known as "Uncle Winford," passed away on February 10, 2026, in Snellville, Georgia due to numerous medical conditions. Born on August 22, 1943, in Gwinnett County, Georgia, his 82 years were lived quietly and always with a smile.

A man of many interests, Uncle Winford had a deep love for sports. Whether it was basketball, baseball, or bowling, he enjoyed them all with enthusiasm. Music also held a special place in his heart-he was an avid fan of the Grand Ole Opry and often made weekend trips to Nashville to experience its performances in person. These journeys reflected his appreciation for the simple joys that brought him happiness.

Winford is survived by his sister Cora Ann Black, as well as several nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Sylvia Allen Black and Jeanette Cain Black. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra, his parents, Cora and Homer Black, along with his siblings Nell, Jeanette, JT, Carrel, Junior, Wendell, Willis, and Wilma.

Uncle Winford's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his legacy bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
