Gail Ray

Gail Ray, age 73 of Woodstock, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. She was born January 20, 1953 in Canton, Georgia to the late Dorsey and Gaynelle Turner.

Gail was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and a dedicated homemaker who faithfully cared for her family. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, and playing the piano. Gospel music held a special place in her heart. Above all, Gail cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Ray, and grandson, Andrew.

Gail is survived by her children, Jennifer Ray Groves, Donna Ray, and Glenda Ray Newberry (Tony); grandchildren, Carrie Newberry, Madison Newberry, Drew Turley, Ryan Turley, Hannah Turley, Brandon Groves, and Hunter Newberry; great-grandchild, Jocelynn Newberry; sister, Faye Anderson; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will lovingly remember her.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Padgett, Rev. Jonathan Kirby, and Rev. Johnny Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Sosebee Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 24th from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 25th from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Drew Turley, Brandon Groves, Ryan Turley, Hunter Newberry, Tony Newberry, Jeff Westbrook, Ben Fisher, and Patrick Free.
