Gail (Goldfuss) Spada, of Middletown, peacefully passed away Tuesday (August 12, 2025) surrounded by loved ones at home. Born in White Plains, NY, Gail is a former Berlin and New Britain resident until moving to Middletown 5 years ago. She owned and operated Red Barn Radiator with her husband from the late 1970's up until the early 2000's, then owned Industrial Hobbies with her husband and son Tommy. Gail was a member of First Lutheran Church in New Britain where she helped with the homeless during Monday Mingles and Wednesday Pasta. Gail thoroughly enjoyed gardening and spending time by Candlewood Lake with her family. When she wasn't listening to 60s Doo Wop or making her famous spaghetti sauce, she was Gammy. The one who solved all the problems with a hug and a kiss. The most important part of her life was laughter and love. Surviving is her son, Thomas Spada and his wife Noemi Velez of Stafford Springs; and two daughters, Courtney Spada and her fiance Brandon Clark of Bristol; and Cassandra Spada of Torrington; a brother, Glenn Goldfuss and sister in law Jackie of Oak Island, NC; a sister Laura Ahneman also of Oak Island, NC; a sister-in-law, Barbara Fischer of Hamilton, MA; seven grandchildren, Audrey, Lillian, Scarlett, Sadie, George, Ada and William; Besides her husband Gino, she was predeceased by a brother, Paul Fischer and nephew Kyle Ahneman. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday (August 21, 2025) 11 AM at First Lutheran Church, 77 Franklin Square, New Britain. Calling hours will be held 1 hour before at 10AM until the time of the service at First Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers at T2T.org.
