Gale Lynn Harkleroad

Gale Lynn Harkelroad, age 80, passed away at his home in Church Hill, TN, on September 5, 2025.

He retired from AFG after more than 30 years of dedicated employment. In retirement, he could usually be found on his front porch enjoying a cup of coffee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William D. Harkleroad and Opal Adkins; his wife, Peggy Harkleroad; daughter, Kathy Smith; grandson, Matthew Hicks; and sister, Eva Phillips.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Jerry Harkleroad; sons, Lynn Harkleroad (Kim) and Jack Buchanan (Judy); grandchildren: Brian Harkleroad, Ashley Hicks, Brandon Buchanan, Christopher Buchanan, Kirstin Harris (Bradley), Alexis Collins, and Nathaniel Collins; great-grandchildren: Mason Hicks, Irelynn Hicks, Lukah Collins, Bradley "Brady" Harris II, and soon-to-arrive Ella Joy Harris; and nieces: Geah Celeste and Geri Ann Trent (Michael). He is also survived by several other loving family members and friends who will remember him fondly.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM on Tuesday, September 9th, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home in Church Hill, TN. The funeral service will follow with Mike Stout officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kingsport, TN.
