Gale L. Webb a lifelong area resident passed into eternal rest Saturday, August 3, 2024 after a sudden illness.
Gale L. Webb was born July 14, 1937 in Purdy, MO the son of Frank and Audrey (Carney) Webb. He was a 1955 graduate of Purdy High School. Gale touched many lives of young children over the many years. He owned operated Webb Transportation from 1966 to 2019, where he operated school buses for Seneca School District, Monett School District, Purdy School District, Joplin School District, Verona School District, Billings School District and the Missouri State School for the Handicap. Gale also owned and operated Viking Trailways from 1971 to 2024. Viking Trailways was his charter bus company. Gale loved to travel and made over 17 tour trips to Alaska and other trips across this great nation. Gale loved old cars and loved collecting them, working on them and restoring them. It was said by Gale's family he lived to work. Gale spent much of his time working on everybody's car. Helping other people was one of his passions of service to those around him. Gale was a member of Arnhart Baptist Church in Purdy, MO.
Gale was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Audrey Webb; his first wife Beverly Webb; his brothers, Oral Webb, Jack Webb and Loren Webb and his sister, Naomi Webb.
Gale married Diana Rose December 9, 2015 and she survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Tim Webb and wife Traci, Seneca; two daughters, Felicia Joines, Carthage, MO., Melissa Snow and husband Greg, Diamond, MO; step-daughter, Angela Varner and husband Jerry, Washburn, MO; one sister, Norma Burtrum, Joplin, MO; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Seneca First Baptist Church with Greg Snow and Jason Mackey officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Dusty Webb, Dillan Webb, Bowden Webb, Brock Skaggs, Spencer Snow and Brenton Olson serving as pallbearers.
The casket will remain closed at all times.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Proclamation Youth Choir, 17260 Elder Road, Diamond, MO 64840 or Every Tribe In Every Tongue Mission, 2169 Highway U, Seneca, MO 64865.
