Prince Mickel Gantt was born in Washington, DC, February 19, 1949. He was the beloved son of the late Willie Gantt and Mildred Williams. He completed his life and went to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 13, 2022.
Prince enjoyed playing football and went on to play Semi-Pro football for the USAF in Japan.
He retired from the USAF in 1986 as Master Sergeant and then attended UNLV and received his Bachelors in Special Education. He worked in the Clark County District and Boys Town in Las Vegas, Nevada for 21 years. He then went on to work for a private school run by Joe Gibbs, former coach of the Washington Redskins, in Virginia. He then returned to his hometown and worked at Pendleton High School for 3 years, then retired. He attended New Holly Light Missionary Baptist Church.
Prince leaves behind his loving wife, Earnestine Gantt; his daughter, Crystal Ostenberg (Mark); two stepchildren, Neal and Cathy Johnson; five brothers, William Gantt (Doreen), Benjamin Gantt (Andre), Antonio Watts (Mary), Norman Watts (Thomasina), and Jeffery Hairston; two sisters, Gwendolyn Walker and Ruth Hymes; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Goldie Gantt Gadsden.
Acknowledgement from the Family: The family of Prince Mickel Gantt would like to thank Upstate Hospice for all of their hardwork and patience to make sure that he had nothing but the best care possible. We also thank family and friends for prayers and support. We deeply appreciate your kind expression of sympathy in our time of sadness.
Funeral service for Mr. Gantt will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 12:30 pm at New Holly Light Missionary Baptist Church, Pendleton, SC with interment to follow at Memory Gardens, Clemson, SC. The family request that all attendees please be so kind to wear a face mask. Thank you.
Public viewing will be Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the mortuary.
The family will be at 1011 Whirlaway Circle, Anderson, SC 29621. The family request that visitors please be so kind to wear a face mask and please be so kind to not to bring and food to the residence the family will provide food for all visitors and well-wishers.
