Gareth Weaver Obituary
Gareth D. Weaver, 93, Marion, passed away at 12:33 am on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, August 18, 1931, to Harry and Marjorie (Harreld) Weaver. On October 7, 1951, he married Martha Hall who preceded him.
Gareth graduated from Marion High School and worked at General Motors for 30 years. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a US Army Veteran. He enjoyed gardening and southern gospel music. He loved to give out CD's and cookies to people. He ran the Lighthouse Book Store at Liberty Baptist Church for many years. His greatest days were spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Danny W. Weaver of Buffalo, NY; daughter, Rhoda Ormsby of Gas City; grandchildren, Carmen (Brad) Fleck of Urbana, Curt (Amber) Anderson of Daleville, Carrie Anderson of Wickenburg, AZ, Lynsey (Josh) McIntyre of Hartford City, Mya Ormsby of Gas City, Rachel Weaver, Danny Weaver, Jr., Rebecca Weaver; 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Marjorie Weaver; beloved wife, Martha Weaver; and daughter, Carol René (Bruce) Anderson.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Gareth's life will begin at 11:00 am with Ryan Frank officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory – Marion.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Liberty Baptist Church 517 Church St., Sweetser, IN 46987.
