Garner Darnell Johnson Jr., known to all as DJ, passed away at the age of 26 in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Born on November 17, 1998, DJ was full of life, laughter, and love. He had a deep passion for cars, always under the hood or behind the wheel—his happy place was on the road. He also loved gaming, spending time with family, and being there for the people he cared about most.
DJ leaves behind his daughter, Ava, whom he adored; his loving parents, Shuntell and Darnell Johnson; his devoted sister, Raven; and his grandmothers, Linda Flynn and Judy Johnson. He also leaves behind many cousins, friends, and extended family who will forever carry his memory.
DJ will be remembered for his big heart, protective nature, and the way he showed up for those he loved. His legacy lives on in every laugh shared and every engine that roars in his name.
Visitation will be Friday, July 11, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 11am-1pm with a celebration of DJ's life beginning at 1pm.
