Garnet Starkey Moore

Garnet Starkey Moore, 93, of Massillon, passed away on September 28, 2023, at Aultman Hospital. She was born on April 28, 1930, in Athens, Ohio to the late Eldon and Ruth (Bobo) Starkey.
She was a 1947 graduate of Columbia High School and a graduate of Ohio University where she proudly received her bachelor's degree before her 21st birthday.
Garnet was employed with Canton City Schools and retired after 38 years.
In her younger years, Garnet and her husband Leland enjoyed camping, sightseeing, and traveling the country in their motorhome. She also accomplished visiting 48 states over her travel adventures.
Garnet was an avid reader, loved shopping and spending time with her family. She enjoyed hosting holidays and always took loving care and time to decorate and personalize the table for those special occasions.
She will be deeply missed by her children William "Bill" Moore, Gina Moore and Dee Moore; grandchildren Jacob Moore, Leah Moore, Stephanie Baker, Brittany (Landon) Starkey and Joshua Baker; great-grandchildren Falon Finefrock, Ryker Starkey and Rocklund Starkey; sister Joanne Nelson and sister-in-law Lena Hamilton.
In addition to her parents, Garnet was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Leland Moore, brother John Starkey and sister Jeannie Brookhart.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 9th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. A prompt 2:15 p.m. service will take place the same day, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where she will be together again with her husband,
