Garry Richard Rosam, 75, of Thompsonville passed away on December 18, 2023, at Munson.
Garry was known for his quick wit, big smile, and the endless support he gave to his family and friends. But more than all else was his remarkable faith and devotion to his great God and Father, Jehovah. Garry was born in Detroit, MI on April 22, 1948. His dad raised him to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and he was baptized alongside his father and brother on May 5, 1962. He met the love of his life, Yvonne Agnes Roberts; but surprisingly she refused his marriage proposal twice! She told him he needed to get a job, get a car, and get a place to live. Months later, they were out again, and she had a "glimmer in her eye" and said, "Aren't you going to ask me something?". So, he asked her to marry him, she said yes, and they were married February 6, 1971. A couple years later they moved from Detroit to Thompsonville, MI to be closer to family. Later had two beautiful sons, Garry and Jason, who they adored. After Yvonne passed away in 2012, Garry displayed more faith and courage than ever before by being a full-time minister of the good news, spending many hours in the door-to-door work of Jehovah's Witnesses every month. Not only that but he devoted many hours in Shepherding the Copemish Congregation as an Elder.
Another great joy he had was being a Papa to grandchildren Isaac and Evie. Second only to Jehovah, they were his life. When young, he would take them to museums, summer reading clubs and creative places where they could make mugs and terrariums for Mom and Dad. When they got older it was out to eat, bowling and movies. Whatever they did together, he was beaming.
Garry's last couple weeks were heartbreaking. But he had friends and family by his side until the end. Most of all, prayers were said to help give him the "peace of God". (Phil 4:6,7) And some of his last words were in reference to those prayers. He said, "I feel it. I am at peace. I'm calm. Jehovah has me." This gives our family peace that we can go on and that Jehovah will help us endure. All the support, love and prayers that have been shown to our family, we will be forever grateful for.
Garry is survived by Children: Garry Rosam and Jason (Jennifer) Rosam; Grandchildren: Isaac Rosam and Evelyn Rosam;
Siblings: Charles (Margaret) Rosam, Sandie Pruner, Rebekah Rosam; Aunt Cleo Rosam
Memorial Service will be held December 30th at 2:00 pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Copemish, with Doug Wallace officiating. Arrangements by Jowett Family Funeral Home of Benzonia. Contributions may be made to donate.jw.org. Arrangements by Jowett Family Funeral Home, Benzonia.
