Gary Alloway Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Mortuary - Rupert on Aug. 1, 2022.
Gary D. Alloway, 71, passed away July 21,2022 at his home in Rupert, Idaho after bravely fighting cancer for 3 years. For that he is our hero. Gary is preceded in death by his father Ted Alloway Sr. his mother Edna May Alloway and one brother Ted Alloway Jr. He is survived by his family who loved him dearly. Maureen (Gary) Goodspeed, daughter Tami (Mike) Coleman, his son Jared Caspersen, and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter Eleanor May (Ellie) Coleman. Gary served his country proudly in 1971, as he finished high school and joined the Army. He then joined the National Guard until his commitment ended in 1976. He then went on to be a police officer with the Nampa Police Department. Gary loved the summer and best of all the 4th of July, which he did get to see his last 4th in 2022. He loved to collect military items, and just recently became a huge western lover. He was a beautiful artist. He had a love for all animals. After moving to Rupert, Idaho in 2021 and he was so excited to explore new places. Gary had a smile that would melt your heart.
God saw you were getting tired and
A cure was not to be,
So he put His arms around you and
Whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched you
Suffer and saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating.
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
We will NEVER forget you Woo. The brightest star in the sky will be you looking down on us. As per Gary's request a private cremation ceremony will be held for family. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
