Gary Lee Atchison, aged 68, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, in Guilford County, North Carolina, where he was born on June 14, 1957. He departed this world of natural causes, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and cherished memories.

Gary spent a significant portion of his life dedicated to his craft as an aircraft mechanic with US Airways, where he served diligently for fifteen years before retiring. His passion for mechanics extended beyond his vocation, as he loved working on heavy equipment, particularly tractors.

Beyond his professional life, Gary found joy in various pursuits. He was an avid golfer and gardener, finding peace and pleasure in the great outdoors. His gentle spirit was accompanied by a fondness for his cat, Rusty, who was a constant companion in his later years. Gary also enjoyed the art of bow hunting, embracing the quiet challenge it offered.

Gary's memory will be treasured by his former wife, Debbie Bailey, and his step-children, Scott Napier and Amber Napier. He is also survived by his brother, Don Atchison, his sister, Karen Atchison, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members who held him dear.

A celebration of Gary's life is being planned at a future date at Colfax Baptist Church, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and share in the stories of a life well-lived.
