Gary M. Bernhardt of passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 50 years, Jacqueline Bernhardt (Grace). He is survived by his three children: Vicki Govoni of Mashpee, Kim Muma of North Falmouth, and G. Martin Bernhardt of Cataumet, and his sister Ellen Parisi of Buffalo. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a niece and great-niece.
Gary graduated from DeVeaux High School in Niagara Falls, NY and attended Hobart College in Geneva, NY. He then served in the Air Force where he met his wife while stationed at Otis Air Base. He worked as an electrician, assembler/purchaser, and sales manager for underwater equipment. But he was most happy spending time with his family, singing along to 50's music, reading, and watching the Patriots and Bills. He was also an active member of John Wesley United Methodist Church of Falmouth, and served as an Eucharistic Minister for many years at multiple places of worship.
Gary will be missed by many, but we take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his loving wife in heaven.
All are welcome to bid farewell & celebrate his life on Monday, February 5th at 9:30am at John Wesley United Methodist Church of Falmouth. Following the service, the burial will be at The National Cemetery at Otis Air Force Base. A reception will follow at 12:00 at John Wesley United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gary's name may be made to the Amyloidosis Center at bu.edu/amyloid/donate or to John Wesley United Methodist Church of Falmouth https: johnwesleyumc.org
