Gary Bissell Obituary

Gary served in the Army National Guard for six years. He retired from GM after 25 years. He enjoyed woodworking and yard work. He also liked old cars and antiquing. He loved U of M football and the Detroit Lions.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Eric) Miller of Missouri; ex-wife and friend, Nancy Jo Bissell; girlfriend, Sharon Blanchard of Ionia; step-children, Bryan (Steve) Thelen and their son Aiden; sisters, Penny (Joe) Peiffer of Hubbardston, Kim (Dave) Bower of Portland, Lisa (Ray) Palmer of Ionia; sister in law, Betty Bissell; grandchildren, Harper Taylor, Zachary Miller, Gabriel Miller, Malachi Miller; step children, Nicholas Blanchard, Allison Willis; his favorite dog, Walter, and many nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy and brother, Denny.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ionia Moose Lodge at 3 PM Friday, October 25, 2024. Arrangements in Care of Lake Funeral Home of Ionia. Online Condolences may be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com.
