Gary Wayne Cantrell, age 77, passed away February 23, 2026. Gary graduated from Cleveland High School. He was a member of the wrestling team and finished second in the state. Gary worked as an auto mechanic, nurse and esthetician. He served his country as a Marine.
In his later years, Gary had a knack for finding little kittens in dire situations. One he found in a storm drain at a doctor's office; another kitten he found on its dead mother's body while driving to his parents' house. At one point, there were six cats living in the house. He loved his cats.
Gary leaves behind his wife, Becky; his twin sister Sherre (Gary) Brown; his sister Tammy Rogers; two brothers Scott (Becky) Cantrell and Mike (Ellie) Cantrell; his sister Patty (Steve) Hilliard. Mike Rogers, Tammy's husband, preceded him in death.
The family will hold a private ceremony for Gary.
