Cynthia Yvonne "Cindy" Epperson, 78, entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, March 2, 2026.
She was born July 1, 1947, in North Collins, New York, where she spent her childhood.
Cindy spent her life working in the restaurant industry, beginning at a young age working in her father's restaurant in North Collins. After moving to Cleveland, she worked for many years as general manager of Checker's and then assistant general manager of Mrs. Winner's.
After retiring, she spent many years caring for her three precious grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, George Spunt Jr; parents Anthony Petz and Erma Petz-Higley; brothers Louis May, Donald May, David May, Timothy Petz; sisters Donnalee May, Esther Petz; in-laws Raymond Epperson Sr and Geraldine Epperson; sisters-in-law Juli Ann Jones and Sandra Epperson.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Raymond Epperson Jr; daughters Anna Epperson and Jaime Flatt (Bob;) son Raymond Epperson III (Ashley;) grandsons Tyler Gunter and Isaiah Gunter; granddaughter Mikayla Gunter; sisters Venessa Tatum and Bernitte "Birdy" Stone; and her first great grandchild, a boy, to arrive in May; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 2:00-4:00pm, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life at Boanerges Baptist Church, in Old Fort, TN, with Reverend David Disney officiating.
The family wishes to thank the staff of both Gentiva Hospice and Companion Funeral Home for their kindness and compassion during this most difficult time.
