Gary Nelson Corder, age 89 recently of Minnetonka, son of W.Wayne
Corder and Alma Genevieve (Cowan) Corder, born 19 May 1936 in
Detroit, Michigan passed away 12 June 2025 at his son, Timothy
Corder's home where he resided as of February 2025 in the hospice
program. Proceeding him in death his parents, his brother, Ronald
Corder, his brother in law, Frederic Brown, and his first wife Mary
(Robinson) Corder. He married Mary Ellen Robinson in February
1957. To this union five children were born and all survive him:
Michael (Colorado), Patrick (Dorothy) (Minnesota), Murray
(Minnesota), Timothy (Ruby), Minnesota, Daniel (Ayu) (Colorado).
After his divorce he married Dianne Delores Westphal in December
1990. Dianne survives him as well as do Dianne's children: Karie
Ruona (Minnesota), Julie Ruona (Jonas Ryckis) (Florida), Mark
Ruona (Minnesota). Gary is also survived by 8 grandchildren and his
siblings Karen Brown (Frederic Brown)(New Mexico), sister in law
Norene (Ronald Corder), Robert (Linda) Minnesota, and Jo Annice
(Michael) Minnesota,
Gary had a stint in the army including a tour in Japan. He started his
computer career at Gold Bond Stamps managing the inventory of the
rewards programs and moving onto Control Data Corporation to
become a Systems Analyst Manager. Later finishing with Born Digital
Storage Systems. He enjoyed tackling home repairs and
construction projects. Having started one cabin at Lake Julia and
finishing another on French Lake in Minnesota. He enjoyed his
grandkids and with Dianne was often in attendance at the
grandchildren's recitals and concerts. As an avid traveler he and
Dianne went on many cruises and overseas trips. Gary had a life
long passion in family genealogy.
Funeral Service 12 noon, Saturday, June 21, at Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Chapel, 9940 Bush Lake Rd., Bloomington MN 55438. Visitation 11am-12pm. www.Washburn-McReavy.com
