It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Lee Edge, who departed from this world on December 11, 2023. He was born on August 20, 1978 to Carol Minnick and the late Roger K. Edge. His journey through life touched the hearts of all those that knew him.
Gary was known to be the life of the party, bringing joy and life to any room he walked into. He was a kind, energetic soul who cared for all those around him. If he saw a stranger needed help, he would be there. He would give the shirt off his back just to help. His family was his everything, and they will miss him dearly.
Gary is survived by his life partner of 23 years, Anthony Colon; mother Carol Minnick and stepfather Bill; step mother Sheila Whipple (Tracy); son Justin Bogart; brother Roger L. Edge; and sisters Anna M. Edge and Heather Whipple. Along with his family, Gary leaves behind a host of loving extended family members and friends, whom he treasured deeply.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roger K. Edge and grandmothers Annie Edge and Jean Minnick.
The loss of Gary Lee Edge leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. In this time of grief, let us remember the moments of joy, laughter, and love that he shared with us.
The memorial service to celebrate the life of Gary Lee Edge will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 1:00 PM at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. with Pastor Timothy Edge from Royal Priesthood Presiding over the service. Friends and family are invited to join and share their memories of Gary with a visitation from 12:00 noon - 1:00 PM before the service.
