Gary Alan Fesenmeyer Sr.

Gary Alan Fesenmeyer, Sr., age 85, of Edwardsville, Kansas, passed away on November 2nd, 2025. His family is planning a Memorial Service with burial in the Edwardsville Cemetery, which will be held at a later date.
Gary was born on November. 20th, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa. After he graduated from High School, he continued to learn drafting and CAD (computer-aided design) on his own. He later moved to Kansas in the 1950s and worked doing CAD, drafting plans for large companies like Bayer and Burns & McDonnell; occasionally, he was self-employed. Gary had built his own pontoon boat that he used at Wyandotte County Lake every year for decades. He loved riding his motorcycle, watching the KC Chiefs, and always had a racing channel on his TV. Thirty years ago, he moved to Excelsior Estates, Missouri, where he served as Mayor before returning to Edwardsville in 2023.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jack Fesenmeyer and Ben Fesenmeyer, and three sons, David Fesenmeyer, Hans Fesenmeyer, and Gary Fesenmeyer, Jr.
Survivors include his daughter, Rosemary Fesenmeyer, of Bonner Springs; son, Mike Fesenmeyer, of Portland, OR; brother, Tom Fesenmeyer, and wife, Pam, of Corona, CA; and grandchildren: Chase, Katie, Stephanie Alford (Brett), and Jonathan. Great-granddaughters: Ellie, Maddie, and Annabelle, as well as other nieces, nephews, and many friends who were like family.
