He started his own business, Frech Foods, specializing in snack foods, and was the local distributor for Charles Chips based in Delanco, NJ, and became well-known throughout the area as the "Charlie's Chip Guy" and the "Chip Man." Gary loved life and had many hobbies, particularly anything involving speed. In his younger days, he loved Corvettes, owning a few in the 1960s. He also enjoyed racing boats and piloting a Cessna 150. He later went on to sponsor a sprint car, and was a devoted NASCAR and Sprint Car fan attending many races over the years. His enthusiasm for trains led him to collect Lionel and LGB trains. His favorite singer was Elvis Presley and often listened to him when he wasn't tuning in to talk radio. He was an avid reader and enjoyed reading newspapers, books, and magazines, with Garfield the Cat being his favorite comic strip. Most evenings he could be found watching MeTV and most recently thoroughly enjoyed the "Mounty" show (When Calls the Heart) and Yellowstone.
