Gary is survived by his mother, Esther; his wife, Jennifer Raab; children, Mariah Dufek, Austin Hackworth, and Dylan Hackworth; grandchildren, Klayton Dufek and Jace Dufek; his close friend, Genia Saumier; aunt, Vicky (Rick) Ousley; and his uncle, Dan (Kathy) Barton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Hackworth, and his brother, DJ Hackworth.
Gary was a devoted family man who would do anything for the people he loved. He took great joy in watching his children and grandchildren in their athletic pursuits and was their biggest fan. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Gary always found ways to lift everyone's spirits with his jokes and quick wit. He was kind, caring, and grounded in his faith.
His love and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
