Sheryl Ann Burk (McCammon), age 58 of Albion, MI passed on Monday October 6th, 2025 at Henry Ford Hospital.
Born on December 16th, 1966 in Milton, FL where her father, John F McCammon was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marines stationed in Pensacola. Her family moved to Fallbrook, California until she married David on November 7, 1986. She graduated from Fallbrook Union High School and attended some college at San Diego Miramar College. When she married, she and her Marine husband moved several times. She worked on the military base for the Department of Defense, the childcare center, and attended college classes. In 1990, she moved to Jackson, Michigan with her husband, a dog, and cat where she worked at Meijers, Sears, and Kmart. Throughout the years she became a domestic goddess and homemaker, caring for her children and husband, volunteering at the school and PTA, and helping the community.
Sheryl led the spousal support groups for several deployments while her husband was in the military. She loved spending time with her friends and bunco buddies, doing ceramics with her granddaughter, trivia, reading all the books she could get her hands on, watching cooking, Bigfoot or home improvement shows, and venturing around the local craft shows. She supported many charities from the Red Cross, Navy Charities, Breast Cancer Awareness, United Way, Police and Fire Fighters helping kids go to sports games, Survivor's associations. She had a big heart and did everything to try to help everyone.
She volunteered at Springport Public Schools doing the popcorn Fridays with the PTA, playground planning committee, and doing the Scholastic Bookfair for 20+ years until her health prevented her from continuing. She loved her pets as she would say "her cats, dogs, husband, children, and granddaughter".
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, David L Burk; Daughter Nicole L Burk, Son John M Burk, and Granddaughter Alannah R Devendorf; her two sisters Amy (Todd) Lafferty of Canyon Lake, CA and Michele McCammon (Mike) of Murrieta, CA; Many nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws. Preceded in death by John F McCammon and Patricia L McCammon (Jones).
She will be cremated per her wishes by Lauer Funeral Home in Jackson and no service will be held. Memorial donations can be made in her name to Jackson District Library or Friends of Albion's Animals.
