Born on May 26, 1951, in

Early in his career, he worked at his parents' family business, Eddie's Supermarket, before pursuing his passion as a master gunsmith and owner of Gary's Guns & Accessories. Gary later served his community with distinction as a deputy with the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office, where he rose to the rank of Captain and helped establish the county's School Resource Officer program- an enduring testament to his commitment to protecting and mentoring young people. Following his time in law enforcement, Gary also worked as a life and health insurance agent, and later in life, he continued his wife's legacy of service by supporting individuals with disabilities as a direct service provider.
A devoted Christian, Gary was a faithful member, deacon, and head of safety and security at First Baptist Church of Okeechobee. His steadfast faith and servant's heart were evident in every aspect of his life.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Roselle Hargraves; his beloved wife, Doris Hargraves; and his sister, Carole Anderson.

He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of loved ones who will cherish his memory.
