Gary Don Hornback, 77, of Decatur went to be with our Lord Tuesday, November 19th, 2024 in Denton, Texas.
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23rd at First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Dr. David Lowrey will officiate. Pallbearers will include Jody Curry, Jonathan Shriver, Dr. Peter Ku, Mark Mann, Don East, and Wayne Thomson. Honorary Pallbearers are The Way Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
Gary was born June 1st, 1947 to Jim Frank and Martha Ruth (Isbell) Hornback in Enis, Texas. He was united in marriage March 14th, 2020 to Karen Lee Mann in Decatur, Texas. Gary received his Master's Degree from the University of North Texas and Texas A&M University in accounting, he has been retired after many years as an accountant. Gary proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, step-father, brother, uncle and friend to many who will dearly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Martha Ruth Hornback; his grandson's, Charles Amos Hornback, and Nelson Ku; great-grandson, Jonathan Edward Shriver.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen Hornback of Decatur; his 3 son's, Jeff Brian Harrison and wife Holly of Decatur, Jared Wayne Hornback and wife Becky of Flower Mound, and Joshua Wade Hornback and wife Amy of Frisco, Beth Ku and husband Peter, Kara Shriver and husband Jonathan, and Jodi Curry and wife Kelley; 10 Grandchildren, Ashton, Greyson, Emerson, Houston, Andrew, McKinley, Madeline, Gavin, Lucy, and Grace; 3 Step-grandchildren; more grandchildren, Marshall, Jackson, Davis, Grant, Tucker Joe, Kolby, and Kaylee; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Dick Hornback and wife Sylvia, and Ron Hornback and wife Julia; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
