Gary Darnell Huffman passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas surrounded by his immediate family. Gary was born on October 18, 1978, in Winters, Texas. He attended school in Winters, Texas, where he made many lifelong friends. He was a member of Sweet Home - The Pinnacle of Praise church in Round Rock, Texas, where he was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Gary had a heart of gold, with a joyous, generous spirit. In the eyes of his family, there was nothing he couldn't do. He was rambunctious, funny, hard-working, strong, courageous, gentle, and kind. Even while fighting cancer during the last 15 months of his life, he stayed strong and never gave up hope. He taught us that when things in life get tough, you get tougher and persevere. Gary loved his music and would listen to everything from country music to rap and hip hop. He enjoyed barbecuing for his family and friends, and he made the best grilled pork chops. Gary will be missed by all who knew and loved him, and we will forever cherish every memory we made with him.
Gary is preceded in death by his father, Mark Revada; his grandmother, Katherine Brockington; his great-grandmother, Cynthia Choice; two aunts (Dorothy and Marie Liggins); one uncle, Joe Carson; and one nephew, Dalvin Huffman.
Gary is survived by his children, Aisley, Alonzo, Atlantis, Amarys, Amity, Aidan, and John; his mother, Margaret Griffin; stepfather, Dennis Griffin; two sisters, Tanya Aragon and her husband, Tony; Kyla Starks and her husband, Robert; three nieces, Adriana, Alexandria, and Aiyana; one nephew, Athen. Also remaining to cherish his memory is his lifelong partner, Sonya Belk; his bonus children, Ashley Belk and Kasi Lewis; and his very special bonus grandchild, Laila. He leaves behind numerous extended family and friends to cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2024 at Winters Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the First Baptist Church with burial following at Northview Cemetery.
