Gary Jack Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory - North Port on Mar. 5, 2026.
Gary Wayne Jack, 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Port Charlotte, Florida on February 28, 2026 surrounded by family.

Gary was born in Camden, New Jersey to the late William and Lucy Jack. Gary is survived by his loving wife Maureen, who provided Gary with devoted care and support for over 25 years following an unfortunate injury which left him paralyzed. He is also survived by his son, Garrett (Donelle) and his grandchildren Gwenyth and Holden. Gary is predeceased by his son, Wesley. Gary is survived by his brothers, William (Donna) and Jerrold (Lisa) and is predeceased by his brothers Ronald and Gregory. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

Gary proudly served three tours of duty in Vietnam in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as an Ironworker prior to the injury that paralyzed him. Although confined to a wheelchair in recent years, that never stopped Gary from doing what he liked to do and having a great time while doing it. He loved to drive his John Deere tractor, work outside in the yard, and sit on the dock in his backyard and fish. He also had a passion for cooking. Gary leaves behind several great friends from his childhood, work and neighborhood who all loved him and he loved them as well. He could talk on the phone or in person for hours with them. They were true to the end.

Memorial contributions in Gary's honor may be made to any animal welfare shelter of your choice. The family will announce service details when they are finalized.
