Gary Wayne Marchesin age 71 of Vernon, New Jersey passed away at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Passaic, NJ on July 4th, 1951. He's predeceased by his mother Mary Epperly Cahill, his father Anthony "Fred" Marchesin, "Noni" Ezra Epperly and his half-brothers Lance, Vince and Glen Marchesin. He is survived by his wife Mary Anne Marchesin (née Lysaght), his children Rebecca Carucci of New Paltz, Sierra Marchesin of Nashville and Simone Marchesin of Boston. Survived by his sisters Cheryl Janesk of Totowa, Deborah Marchesin Planson, and his half-brothers Ken, Rick, and Brad Marchesin. He is also survived by grandchild Sofia Carucci. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He worked for the Capitol Theatre from 1979-1983, the A&P from 1967-2012, and in his retirement, he worked at Paul's Bar & Bowling. He was the grand master of the South Paterson chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta (SKD). He loved cooking for family and friends and sharing his infamous recipes. He was an athlete and a sports enthusiast who enjoyed following the Dodgers, Raiders and college basketball. He had the ability to bring people together through his passions, like golf and music, and created family wherever he went. Music was a constant state of mind; whether he was organizing a music gig at Paul's, talking about his Rock & Roll days, or showing everyone the newest band he discovered. Towards the end of his life, his loyal dog, Annie, was always by his side providing companionship. His wife, Mary Anne, was his best friend and he had the fortune of knowing her since childhood due to his friendship with her brother, Dennis Lysaght.

I'm so sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. He really was one of the good people in the music business. Speaking on behalf of most musicians I know who knew Gary, Everybody loved him!!! His love of music and musicians was infectious. I can't tell you how many EPIC gigs I had at Paul's and other venues with Gary. And that's because Gary made you feel like this is the place to be right now. Really, I can only speak for myself, but I used to play me heart out for Gary. And as much as my relationship with him was professional through music, I always considered him a friend first. And as soon as I would finish playing he would come up to me on breaks and say " Is that all you got????". It really became a running gag that lasted for years. I'm really going to miss him!
