Dr. Gary Miller

Dr. Gary T. Miller of Green Bay passed away on November 23rd, 2022, with his loving wife at his side; he managed cancer with strength and grace. Gary was born on July 23rd, 1950, to Nicholas and Rita (Bates) Miller, in Detroit, MI. He fell in love with Fran while they both were attending the University of IL Chicago. Gary completed his residencies at the University of WI Madison and pursued a career as an Ear, Nose & Throat physician. On May 1st, 1976, he married Fran, his best friend and love of his life. The two of them did everything together, including building his medical practices.

Gary and Fran enjoyed camping and hiking across the United States. He found great pleasure in experiencing the local culture and history in each place they visited. He especially enjoyed New Orleans and New Mexico. Many of the trips were to launch model rockets, which he loved to build with Fran. Gary also enjoyed working on cars, especially mustangs.

Gary had a passion for science and helping people. He used these passions as he touched thousands of lives over his career as an ENT physician and surgeon. Early in his career, he worked in Rockford, IL. He went on to build a solo ENT practice in Green Bay. Those close to Gary know that, although he said he was retired, he never actually stopped learning and helping to solve medical challenges for anyone who asked for his help.

Gary is lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 46 years, Fran; sibling, Natalie (Merlin) Psenicka; sister-in-law, Laura (Ray) Hepburn; niece, Claire Miller; nephew, Jeremy Miller; and many other relatives, friends, and patients.

He is now reunited with his loved ones: parents, Nicholas and Rita (Bates) Miller; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Phyllis (Howell) Hepburn; and brother-in-law, Timothy Hepburn.

Thank you to the wonderful people who cared for Gary over the course of his illness at Mayo Clinic. A special thank you to Dr. Aaron Mansfield for his research and passion in the area of oncology.

A celebration of Gary's life and legacy will be held on a future date yet to be determined.
