Gary Loyd Moore was born on December 16, 1956 to Hugh Loyd Moore and Alta (Delano) Quinn in Bell County, Texas. During Gary's elementary years he grew up in West Virginia and moved back to Texas. He met the love of his life, Sherry Sharlene McCray in the halls of Academy High School. While Gary was a football and track star, no sport could compete with his love for music. Gary was a licensed electrician and worked for over 30 years at Amos Electric. Throughout his many endeavors, the music in his heart never faded. He played in rock bands such as Shed Rock and Gravelwhip and eventually found himself playing guitar for the praise band at Little River United Methodist Church. His most recent hobbies included watching the Dallas Cowboys while wearing his Emmitt Smith jersey, bird watching, and snacking on Kit Kats and Dr. Pepper while listening to classic rock. He was also known for his love of animals and his special ability to connect with insects.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Loyd Moore; his stepfather, Aubrey Quinn.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sherry McCray Moore; three daughters, Allison Crowell, Sarah Hogan, Jenna Moore; two brothers, Larry Miller and wife Tracy, Steven Miller and wife Janet; one sister, Pam Smith; two grandchildren, Cambrie Wilkinson and Maverick Crowell.

Gary used to come over often to visit, watch football games he and Mike would paint their faces blue and white and yell the house down together. Lot of really good memories of Gary and he never minded my tagging along when he and Mike went fishing. He loved playing music in the shed and we often went to hear him play. He added a lot to my and our lives and I am very glad that he was a part if it. I´m so sorry for your loss. He was a good man!
