Gary Paul Raymont, age 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Born on March 16, 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, Gary was the beloved son of the late Fred and Jean (née Macha) Raymont.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sisters, Sandra Pollock and Sally Raymont. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Mary (née Didion), and their children, Christopher (Erica), Sarah (Michael), and Brian (Erin). Gary will be deeply missed by his seven grandchildren, Audrey, Michael, Julia, Grace, Jenna, Ellenora, and Benjamin and his great-grandchild, Henry. He also leaves behind his loving sisters, Patricia Sayer (Dwight) and Pamela Jatzek (William), his brother-in-law, Gary Pollock, his sisters-in-law, Barbara Didion and Susan Didion, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gary enjoyed a distinguished 35-year career as an educator with the Shaker Heights City Schools. His dedication to shaping young minds left an indelible impact on his colleagues, students, and the community.
In addition to his work in education, Gary made significant contributions through his roles with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Quicken Loans Arena, and Unity Catholic Federal Credit Union. His passion for sports and his vibrant presence brought joy and energy to fans and community members alike.
Gary cherished his role as a family man, sharing an unbreakable bond with his wife, children, and extended family. He found immense joy in celebrating the accomplishments and milestones of those he loved.
Gary will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to education, community service, and his profound love for family. His kind spirit, humor, and generosity touched all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Padua Franciscan High School, or a charity of your choosing in Gary's name. Floral arrangements should be delivered to the church.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Gary at 11am on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 5891 Ridge Rd.,
