Gary Mitchell Roerig, 80, a native of Oklahoma, and longtime resident of Terrebonne Parish, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on the early morning of Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation in his honor on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date.
Gary is survived by his children, Kelly Seely (Scott), Cynthia Fondren (Mitchell), Veronica Thibodeaux (Danny), Star McKenna, and Neil Theriot (Tracey); six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jeffrey Roerig (Leticia), Thomas Roerig (Perla), James Roerig (Deborah), and Sue Ellen Duncum (Russell).
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Beverly Roerig; parents, James and Ellen Roerig; and sons, Lee Theriot, Jr., and Anthony Roerig.
Gary was an ardent lover of simple pleasures. He found joy in cutting grass, transforming lawns into lush retreats, and taking immense pride in his surroundings. Each Mardi Gras season, he eagerly looked forward to celebrating with his wife, reveling in the festive atmosphere and the vibrant parades. Time spent with family brought him immeasurable happiness, and he treasured every moment shared with them.
As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Gary not with sadness, but with gratitude for the love and joy he shared with all of us. May his spirit continue to inspire us to cherish every day and embrace our loved ones with open hearts.
Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Gary Roerig.
