Gary (Lamar) Sailors, age 74, passed away on December 8th, 2024 in McDonough, GA. Born September 8th, 1950 to Mayo and Catherine Sailors. Lamar grew up in Atlanta, GA. A 1968 Roosevelt High School graduate. He went into the Navy in 1969 and served active duty until 1971 and then finished in the Navy Reserves. Lamar had a long career as an insurance salesman. Lamar enjoyed golfing, basketball and other sports, as well as companionship of his dog Beau.
Proceeded in death by his parents, brother Ray and sister Ann.
Lamar is survived by his daughter Stacy (Greg) Bannworth. Grandchildren, Lauren (Matthew) Sanders, Rebekah (Josh) Beavers, Isaac(Victoria) Bannworth, Andrew(Sarah) Bannworth, Great grandchildren, Jackson Sanders, Zack Bannworth and Ruth Ann Beavers. Siblings, Brenda Stodghill, Larry(Brenda) Sailors, Gail(Johnny) Hampton and Dale Sailors. And many nieces and nephews. And close friend Judy Jordan.
A memorial service will be held at Providence Church (Rock Springs Church) located at 1005 Chappell Mill Rd Milner, GA 30257 on December 19th, 2024 at 3:00 pm with pastor Trey Varner officiating. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Gary, please visit our Tree Store.
