Gary Wayne Scheffler Sr, 43, of Marrero, LA, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 16, 1981, in Marrero, LA, to his parents, Mark Nelson Scheffler and Janet Donham Robin. Gary was a lifetime mechanic. He was a mechanic during the day and at night he enjoyed playing pool and fixing pool cue sticks. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Mark Nelson Scheffler; his stepfather, Golden Paul Boutte; his maternal grandparents, Nelson Eddison Donham and Annie Louise Donham; his paternal grandparents, Edward (Red) Scheffler and Evelyn Scheffler; his uncle, Ronald Carlos his aunts, Lesa Kay (CeeCee) Donham Cora, Tresa Fay (Tee) Donham Corde and Mary Donham Moore; his cousins, Nola Nichole Donham and Christina Marie Little.
Gary is survived by his mother, Janet Clarice Donham Robin, his stepfather, James Howard Robin; his sons, Dontae Paul Scheffler, Caine Anthony Scheffler, and Gary Wayne Scheffler Jr.; stepdaughter, Daysha Lynn Richardson; all from Marrero and Metairie, LA; his brother, Danny (Diana) Scheffler; his stepsister, Melisa Robin; his stepbrother, Phillip (Sheila) Dodson; his grandson, Greyson Louis Manning, his granddaughter, Addalynn Rose Scheffler, and his step granddaughter, Raelynn Rose Manning; his Nanny, Sharon Munch; his second cousin by birth, Brothers by choice, Joseph Matthew Bauman; and a host of Cousins and relatives.
Pallbearers are Dontae Scheffler, Caine Scheffler, Joseph Bauman, Jace Williams, Dwight Donham, and Christopher Dobbins. Honorary Pallbearer is Ernie.
Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on April 27, 2025, at Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel. Immediately following will be the Funeral Service with Brother Andrew Vaughn officiating. Interment will be at Jennie Cemetery under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home.
