Gary Eugene Shuster Sr., 75, of Delaware, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Born on August 19, 1950, in Delaware, Ohio, Gary was the son of the late Hugh Frederick Shuster and Kathryn Irene (Peters) Shuster. Previously married to Rebecca (Kirby) Eubank of Ostrander, Ohio and Peg (Law) Shuster of Oklahoma. He spent his life rooted in family, community, and the open road, working as a truck driver and living in various places including Delaware, Ringling, Waurika, and Ardmore, Oklahoma, before eventually settling in Ashley, Ohio.

Gary is survived by his sons, Gary (Ruth) Shuster Jr. and Ritchie Shuster; grandchildren Trevor, Tyler (Kassie Bowmar), Tara Shuster, Anthony, Vincent, and Taylor Shuster, Taylor (Hunter Manning) Freeman; as well as great-grandchildren Mavis Freeman and Remington Manning; sisters Patty Turner, and Sharon Herriott; as well as his brother Ron Shuster.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Angie Shuster, and his sister, Carolyn Sue Lambert.

A lifelong sports fan, Gary's heartbeat for the Ohio State Buckeyes, the thrill of NASCAR, and the excitement of horse racing. He was especially loyal to his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon (#24). Yet, his greatest passion was always his family. Gary never missed a game, meet, or performance - cheering proudly from the sidelines for his grandchildren. Whether it was Trevor and Tyler excelling on the field, Tara competing in sports and equestrian events, or Tyler stepping into a coaching role, Gary was their biggest fan. He treasured every moment with them, especially the road trips he shared with Trevor to West Virginia.

Gary had a gentle, generous heart and a love for the simple joys of life - family gatherings, the roar of a good race, and the traditions he held dear, like the Little Brown Jug.

A memorial gathering in Gary's name will be held on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, beginning at 6pm at Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel (637 N State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio 43074) where a memorial service to honor Gary's life will follow beginning at 6:30pm.

In celebration of his life, friends and loved ones are also invited to gather on the fourth turn of racetrack under Gary Shuster Jr's tent during the final race at the Little Brown Jug on Thursday, September 18, 2025, a place and tradition that brought Gary so much happiness. Those who cannot attend the race in person are kindly asked to tune in by TV or Radio to raise your hat or drink and smile in memory of Gary.
