Gary Warren Souther, age 83, passed peacefully from this life on May 24, 2025. He was born on May 25, 1941, in Archer City, Texas, to Emory Eugene Souther and Lottie Mae Sutherland Souther.
Gary graduated from R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving four and a half years as a medic, with assignments in Kansas and Tulley, Greenland.
He then embarked on a 26-year career with Delta Air Lines, from which he retired on December 1, 1992. During his time there, he met and married his best friend, Brenda Branton Souther, on November 19, 1992. They shared 34 years of happy marriage.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Branton Souther; two brothers, Emory Eugene Souther Jr. and Kenneth Souther (wife Greada); two sisters, Kathryn Souther Doerr and Gail Souther; and his first wife and close friend, Rebecca Souther Sledge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Lottie Souther; one sister, Betty Sue Thweatt; and two brothers, Wayne Souther and Paul Souther.
There are no services scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to any animal shelter or rescue of your choice. Acknowledgements can be sent to Brenda Souther, 228 County Road, Yantis, TX 75497.
