Gary Eugene Stang, of Liberty passed away on Sunday June 1, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on September 25, 1944 in Batesville, IN, the son of the late Omer and Mildred (Bauer) Stang.
Gary was a 1963 graduate of Brookville High School.
On July 12, 1969, Gary married the former Judy Mullins. They were blessed with a daughter.
For many years Gary was a coast to coast truck driver, he was also a talented mechanic that owned his own shop. Gary was a faithful member of Liberty Church of Christ. He was also a devoted member of the Liberty Lions Club. When Gary had down time he could be found working on his 1964 Ford Falcon, he loved attending car shows with his prized possession. He also enjoyed relaxing while watching his favorite sports such as NASCAR, NHRA, and IU football and basketball. Spending time with his beloved family was his most cherished memory.
Along with his wife of 55 years, Judy, he is survived by his daughter, Adrianna Stang; his brothers, Delbert (Ethel) Stang, Glen (Alice) Stang and several nieces and nephews.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held on Thursday June 5, 2025 at Liberty Church of Christ located at 102 S Main Street Liberty, IN 47353. Friends and family may visit from 1:00PM until 3:00PM. A funeral service will begin at 3:00PM. Burial will follow at Sims Cemetery.
