Gary Steinke Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. - Hopewell Junction on Mar. 4, 2025.
Gary R. Steinke passed away on March 2, 2025 at Westchester Medical Center. He was born on July 21, 1948 in Buffalo, NY to the late Howard and Cecelia (Gabner) Steinke. On October 17, 1987, he married his beloved wife Aimee (Becker) Steinke in Elmira, NY.
For many years, Gary worked as a Salesman for Celltreat/Vista Lab, a job that he loved very much and never retired from. In his spare time, he loved fishing, hockey, taking care of his lawn, pontooning, and cheering on his favorite football team of all time: the Buffalo Bills! He also loved shopping at Costco. He loved a good deal!
Gary had an incredible sense of humor, a great work ethic and was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife Aimee Steinke, Gary is survived by his children: Michael Steinke and his wife Christina, and Emily Conover and her husband Justin; Laura McCullough and her husband Kevin; his granddaughter Gabriella, and his soon-to-be granddaughter Delaney Rose.
He was predeceased by his parents and by his brother Warren Steinke.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 6, 2025 from 4-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction. A Funeral Service will take place at 11am on Friday March 7, 2025 at the funeral home, followed by burial at Wappingers Rural Cemetery.

Just so hard to believe my boy Spanky Steinke is gone. You will be missed by so many and I know you will be selling wings and halos to the angels. Best salesman ever and a great friend. Will miss our conversations and lunches together. We have dedicated an area in our yard in memory, Gary's Garden. Love Ross Borak
