Gary Lynn Tomlinson, 66, passed away on May 6, 2025 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Gary was born on November 7, 1958. He was born in Salina, Kansas while his father was in the Air Force and the family moved several times before settling in Indiana. He graduated from Daleville High School in 1977. Following high school, he became a Tool and Die Maker working at Luick Quality Gauge and Tool in Muncie, Indiana for over 40 years.
While in high school, Gary enjoyed athletics and was an avid IU basketball, Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts fan. He enjoyed being outdoors, canoeing, boating, and fishing. A very gregarious person, he always had the company of good friends. He loved to celebrate life and was a constant source of optimism, laughter, and friendship.
Gary is survived by his girlfriend, Sheila Kalley; brothers, Darren Tomlinson and Jim Tomlinson; his two sons, Adam Tomlinson and Evan (spouse, Holly) Tomlinson and grandson, Duke Tomlinson
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie “Jim” and Vera “Evelyn” Tomlinson.
A visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Daleville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gary Tomlinson Memorial Fund in C/O Ballard and Sons Funeral Home. You may express condolences or share memories of Gary at www.ballardandsons.com.
